Where Almond Petals Reign

A floating petal, pure, wanders the air

As sunlight reflects fresh illusion off

Its unique lattice-veins—this is my child!

One of hundreds to paint Springtime’s blizzard.

In the warm web of the Portuguese breeze,

A Scandinavian princess watches

From afar.  Her crystalline pearls shedding

Eye-birthed chagrin—

Why do you cry, my love?
