Skipping Stones

I try not to slip

on seaweed and stone

when chasing sunsets.

The steps are revealed

until the sand falls in the current

of this mirrored hourglass.

Though they are now buried

in the glassy tide of time,

today I skipped upon them,

smiled at the tired sun,

and did not slip.
